Tank McNamara names its “Sports Jerk of the Year”
Bill Hinds and Jeff Millar, creators of Tank McNamara, have named Plaxico Burress the “Sports Jerk of the Year 2008″ in last Friday’s strip. The New York Giants wide receiver gained notoriety last November when he accidentally shot himself in the leg while in a nightclub. He turned himself in to police the following day and was charged with criminal possession of a handgun.
Previous “Sports Jerk of the Year” awards winners include Terrell Owens (2x), Bud Selig (2x), Daniel Snyder, John Rocker, Lleyton Hewitt, Latrell Sprewell, Ronald Curry, and Roberto Alomar.
