Yep, Newark NJ Star Ledger replaced FBoFW with Heloise. And what were the "Hints" for Day 1 replacement?

-why can't T-shirt manufacturers make them in a specific size, instead of a broad range

-why can't 2-for-1 coupons be honored to purchase a single item for half-price

-buying 10 items for 10 bucks is a ripoff, because it's usually due up for expiration

Great...

Bismarck (ND) Tribune replaced FBOFW with Daddy's Home.

That's three newspapers so far that replaced FBOFW with Daddy's. Markstein and Rubino must be dancing right now.

"As for the two papers I get that carry comics, the Portland (Me.) Press Herald replaced FBOFW today with Pickles..."

Good thing, because it's not like they have a local cartoonist who does a syndicated comic about the Elderly.

I... wait...

That is good news, Charles. I would love to see more newspapers going for local cartoons.

As for the two papers I get that carry comics, the Portland (Me.) Press Herald replaced FBOFW today with Pickles, but the Boston Globe is continuing to carry FBOFW. The New York Times, of course, continues to be a snob about comics.

Napa Valley (CA) Register is replacing For Better with "Morgan," a work of a local cartoonist John Benz.

It's nice there are still some newspapers that's willing to run a work of a local cartoonist, especially in this case, which will replace a major syndicated comic strip.

The Newark, NJ Star-Ledger will be running FOOB only on Sundays. It will be replaced in the dailies "by the tried-and-true column 'Helpful Hints by Heloise.' "
