» Scott Hiburn, creator of The Argyle Sweater gets a call from Dear Abby.

» Brad Veley, gag cartoonist, is profiled by WLUC.

» Clarion Ledger editorial cartoonist Marshall Ramsey will be on MPB Radio’s Mississippi Edition tomorrow morning at around 8:30 a.m.

» French cartoonist Maurice Sinet (AKA “Siné”) wrote a scathing (and some call anti-Semitic) article in a satirical magazine called “Charlie Hebdo” regarding the French President’s son and his fiancee. He has since been fired and has been asked to retract his statements – to which he replied he’d rather castrate himself.

» New Yorker cartoonist Liza Donnelly is profiled in the Poughkeepsie Journal.

» A side note from the Poughkeepsie Journal article on Liza Donnelly. It states that 2,030 cartoonist are employed in New York state (in 2002) and that is projected to rise to 2,280 by 2012 (according to New York state Department of Labor department). A. I think that’s a fair number of cartoonists and B. 250 more cartoonists in a decade is not exactly a rapidly growing profession.
