Arctic Circle replaces FoxTrot in Hartford

The Hartford Courant has announced that their long time search for a replacement for the daily FoxTrot (which retired at the end of 2006) is over and Alex Hallatt’s Arctic Circle is now a permanent feature in their comic line up.

Hundreds of people have commented on the different strips we have been trying out, with many kind words for “Agnes,” “Candorville” and “Frazz.” There were slightly fewer kudos for other strips, including “Diesel Sweeties” and “Cow and Boy.” And, of course, many begged for Dilbert to be moved from the Business section back to the comics pages (still, not a chance). We took into account everyone’s comments, coupled with our own preferences, and chose “Arctic Circle.”

  1. In related news, approximately 30 papers are still searching for a replacement for Krazy Kat. Is 60 years too long to run a comics poll?

    Congratulations to Alex.
