		<description>Yup. The annual parade of holiday analogies. That&#039;s what I call the October through December editorial cartooning season. Whenever I get stuck for a cartoon idea this time of year, I reach into the old sack of holiday scenes and pull out a trick-or-treater, or a turkey or the Right Jolly Old Elf himself. Also the New Year Baby gets hoisted out a time or two and spanked to life. That way I get finished up early enough to spend some time browsing the latest on-line theories as to why newspaper editorial cartooning (that&#039;s my field) is becoming extinct. Hey! Holiday analogy: Cartoonist trick-or-treats at mainstream media&#039;s house and gets a pink slip instead of candy!</description>
