Hamilton Spectator goes to bar to select Foxtrot replacement
Darrin Bell talks about a different approach taken by the Hamilton Spectator to the traditional comics poll – taking samples into a dark bar (or comedy club) and asking patrons whether they should be added to their comics page. The features under consideration by a bunch of randomly selected, slightly inebriated, who even knows if they even read the newspaper are: Pearls Before Swine, Girls and Sports, Lio, Pooch Cafe and Chuckle Brothers.
Says Darrin:
In fact, I think newspapers should choose all their features by showing them to clueless drunk people in some bar. The advice columns alone would be worth the price of a subscription.
The winner was not announced in the video. Details to follow.
