		<description>In regards to cartoonists&#039; opportunities mentioned in your article, one cannot overlook publication opportunites outside the role of traditional syndicates.  There are simply more options out there for a cartoonist to reach an audience in this day and age, with webcomics on the internet, and smaller independant and trade publications able to reach greater circulation due to the ease of modern document services.  That&#039;s not to say I&#039;d turn down a syndication deal, but it is no longer the be all or end all to a comic strip&#039;s success as it once was.</description>
