Herblock exhibit opens at Library Of Congress
The venerable Herbert Block, best known as Herblock will have his own exhibit with the Library of Congress. The exhibit that opens today is small but only a preview of a much larger exhibit that will open up in 2009 to commemorate his 100th birthday. Herblock was the Washington Post editorial cartoonist from 1946 until his death in 2001. He left behind over 14,000 originals that are still being retrieved, sorted and archived. The current exhibit runs through January and includes some of his 50,000+ sketches for his cartoons which have never been publicly seen.
