‘Garfield’ strip enrages University of Michigan fans

The ever grouchy cat, “Garfield” has enraged University of Michigan Fans with a reference that  Woverines were losers.

Last week, Jim Davis’ feature included dialog between Jon and Garfield in which Jon asks Garfield for a word that rhymes with ‘wolverine’ to which Garfield responded ‘loser.’

The Paws Inc. camp insists that the reference to loser was directed at the character ‘Jon’ and not the university.

I believe you mean to say University of Michigan. Michigan State are the Spartans. M-U are the Wolverines.

Ohio State and Michigan State fans/alumni are having a field day with the last panel. Jim Davis could put that last panel on a t-shirt and sell em during the Fall football games.
