Weekly editorial cartoonist wanted

The Montclair Times has posted a job opening for an editorial cartoonist looking for someone to tackle “local, regional and national issues.”  The Times is a weekly paper in New Jersey.

Opinionated in Montclair? Skilled with artistic and satirical flair?

After more than eight years of creating incisive, poignant, and witty editorial cartoons for The Montclair Times, Bill Valladares will be departing the area for a new job in Georgia.

The Times seeks a editorial cartoonist who can nail local, regional and national issues on deadline pressure, usually intertwined with The Times? editorial stances. Familiarity with Montclair is essential.

Greetings!

Saw your ad & thought I’d like to send you some samples of my work. Just give me an address and topic.

I work in a varitey of styles to suit my clients. So far I’ve illustrated a nationally syndicated paperback “Cat Tricks”, cartoons for “Dr Draw” and “Protooner”, both west coast magazines, even technical illustrations for the U.S. Navy at Ft. Hamilton on Staten Island. (I’ve gotta tell ya’ the Navy has a VERY limited sense of humor).

I grew up in Verona and so have a familiarity with local as well as national events.

Thanks,

Geoff

Hi,
quite a bit of time has past since the early post in ’06. – however, if you are still interested in receiving cartoons, I’d be interested in supplying them, – (from my home studio).

You can see samples in various newspapers if you google “bob conroy” editorial. Some of the papers currently displaying my work should show up.

I send new cartoons out every Sunday evening via internet in either .pdf or jpeg format. If you think you might be interested, please email me.
