I probably shouldn't, but I have to ask which comic strips are you talking about? Boondocks was not my cup of tea, but I don't think it belonged on the editorial page as much as, say, Millard Fillmore. (hmmm...maybe because Mallard Fillmore isn't really funny). Doonesbury is political, but it is kind of funny.

I'm not bashing your statement, I'm just asking what you mean by it. What strips are you talking about? Why do you think editors would purposely lose touch? What cartoonists are espousing their political views? (Boondocks, Doonesbury and Mallard Fillmore don't really count since thats the premise of the strip) Are you upset because you don't agree with the views, because with the exception of Mallard Fillmore, they are funny AT LEAST some of the time.

Oh, and please release the caps lock if you reply.:)

I GET MORE THAN A LITTLE TIRED OF "CARTOONISTS" WHO USE THEIR CARTOON STRIPS AS A MEANS TO ESPOUSE THEIR POLITICAL VIEWS.EDITORS SEEM TO HAVE LOST TOUCH (PERHAPS PURPOSELY) WITH WHAT IS FUNNY AND WHAT IS OVERT POLITICAL CAMPAIGNING, OR SOMEONE'S RACIAL EQUALITY AXE TO GRIND. "BOONDOCKS" FIT BOTH THOSE CATEGORIES,I HOPE IT'S GONE FOR GOOD ! PUT THOSE THINGS ON THE EDITORIAL PAGES AND FIND SOMETHING TO ENHANCE THE DYING TRULY FUNNY COMIC STRIPS. COMICS BY DEFINITION ARE SUPPOSED TO BE,WELL,FOR LACK OF A BETTER WORD, PERHAPS FUNNY ? DUH !!!!! JACK CROYLE
