David Catrow working on ‘Horton Hears a Who’ movie

From Cagle’s blog comes news that David Catrow is moving into animation and is working as a character designer for the upcoming movie “Horton Hears a Who.” Cagle also reports that David won’t be returning to editorial cartooning in the near future.

Copley News Service announced that David was taking a sabbatical to work on animation projects, including the upcoming “Horton Hears a Who” movie as a character designer. Regrettably, David decided not to return to editorial cartooning. He still illustrates for his newspaper, The Springfield (Ohio) News-Sun, but not as an editorial cartoonist.

David tells me that he doesn’t have strong feelings about every subject, as he thinks an editorial cartoonist needs to have – interesting because his cartoons have always put across strong opinions.
