10 more die; Mohammad cartoon death count stands at 29

Ten more people were killed in rioting over the Danish Mohammad cartoons – this time in Lybia. This report brings the death count to 29.

Ten people are reported dead in Libya, where police opened fire yesterday on a stone-throwing mob that set fire to the Italian consulate in Benghazi.

At least four people have been hurt in rioting today in a city in eastern Pakistan. Police fired on demonstrators trying to burn down shops. A Muslim cleric fanned the flames yesterday offering a reward of a million dollars and a car to anybody who killed an offending cartoonist.

  1. It is hard not to imagine their Prophet with a bomb in his turban when Muslims are killing people and destroying whatever they can just because some Danes drew some cartoons. Not to mention the rewards for killing the people who actually drew the cartoons. Probably some young teenagers in the first place. I posted the cartoons on my website, at http://www.obber.com, along with a game I created. The game is called Shoot Gallery, and you can gun down Osama Bin Laden for giving their Prophet such a terrible image. The violent reaction to all of this is more shocking to the world then seeing the cartoons.

  3. It is becoming very difficult for me to swallow the whole “Islam is a religion of peace” line. When the Iranians started renaming their danish pastries as “Roses of the Prophet Mohammad” my first thought was that the rose has some serious thorns on it. I really wish that wasn’t my first reaction. I want to believe that the Muslim people are peaceful, but too many are proving it otherwise.
