Michigan cartoonist draws on holy humor
This local cartoonist story comes from the Lansing State Journal about Jonny Hawkins who specializes in drawing Christian cartoons. He’s been published in over 300 publications since he started in 1986.
He works in a small room, decorated with Detroit Tigers wallpaper border and other baseball memorabilia. From the window, he can watch an occasional car pass by his family’s rural home near Sherwood.
But Jonny Hawkins, 39, wasn’t thinking about the Tigers or watching traffic because the freelance cartoonist had work to do for the Leadership Journal and Natural History magazines.
