Garfield statues coming to Marion County

Like the statues of the Peanuts gang in Saint Paul Minnesota, the Garfield crew will soon be immortalized throughout Grant County Indiana with statues as a tourist attraction.

Town Council member Sue Smith thinks the project will be a great addition to Fairmount’s history.

“I think it’s a wonderful thing,” she said. “Of course, James Dean seems to be the No. 1 attraction, but I think Jim Davis is right up there with him. This is a great thing that is happening.”

Actually, the statues are going in Marion, Indiana and surrounding Grant County. “Marion County” in Indiana is the location of Indianapolis, and about a 90-minute drive south of Grant County.
